Be careful where you park. Overnight parking is not allowed, and there are fees for parking.

Seatbelt, safety seat, and helmet policy on Belize
All drivers and passengers must wear their seatbelts, and all motorcyclists must wear helmets. Children under four-years-old should be in a child safety seat. Older children should ride in the back seat.

Road contitions on Belize
The maintenance on the roads can vary, and many are unpaved. Avoid venturing off the beaten track in the rainy season (June to October) because some sites will not be accessible. Four-wheel drive vehicles are recommended. Paved two-lane roads are in fairly good condition, but beware of unmarked speed bumps around small villages. Be aware of flooding in the rainy season.
